Mixed Martial Arts
MMA describes a nontraditional style of Martial Arts that includes standing and ground combat techniques, differing from most Martial Art Styles that concentrate on one or the other. Historically, Martial Art competitions were held by different schools that practiced the same style. This improved the abilities of the students in one style. The student versed in both genres of Martial Arts, (standing and ground) could surprise and overwhelm his adversary, with techniques his one dimensional opponent has never been exposed to.

After Studying Martial Arts all his life he found that he wasn't happy with traditional Martial Arts as a method of self defense. His philosophy was that traditional Martial Arts lacked the freedom to try a new technique or move another way. The classes were often stiff and cold and self promoters promised to teach you self defense, but instead, taught you forms and kicks that you're not able to do without months of practice even in your best physical condition. It's a great exercise and looks very cool, but it isn't self defense.
Tony Rogers joined the International Combat Hapkido Federation (ICHF) in 1999. Master Tony stated "I'm privileged to be a student of Grand Master John Pelligrini and the ICHF. I had to look for a long time for a system that was easily taught, easily learned and most important, devastatingly effective in it's purpose." Since opening his do-jang in 1999, he has taught hundreds of people of all shapes, ages, and sizes to defend themselves. He continues today to hold seminars for government agencies, airline staff, and local law enforcement.

Kevin Burnette
Strength & Conditioning Trainer
Kevin Burnette has been training with Master Tony since June 2008. He has earned black belts in Tae Kwon Do - 2nd Degree, American Free Style - 1st Degree, Karakido - 1st Degree, and ranked in Tang Soo Do - 1st GUP. He has also studied Krav Maga, Small Circle Jiu Jitsu, Aikido, Boxing, and Kickboxing. Kevin has competed at the Battle of Atlanta and numerous other Mid-Atlantic area amateur full contact tournaments.
Kevin was looking for a more practical style of martial arts when he heard about a new martial art school (Full Circle Martial Arts) opening up in the area. After his first meeting with Master Tony, Kevin knew where he and his family would continue their martial art training. He believes that Combat Hapkido is one of the most realistic, effective, and useful self-defense marital art that he had found during his 27 years of marital art training. Master Tony is very knowledgeable and an excellent instructor. Kevin and his family enjoy training with Master Tony and recommends his do-jang to everyone.
Master Tony and Kevin have developed a total fitness program that builds cardio, core strength, and functional muscle which is necessary for full contact competitions ( i.e., Mixed Martial Arts fights, Tough Man Contests, Full Contact Kickboxing and Boxing). The combination of ground fighting techniques, stand up boxing skills, and the fitness program will make anyone an excellent all around fighter. But make no mistake, the fitness program is not just for fighters ¾- it is also great for anyone wanting to get into shape or to lose weight.
